Killing Mexico

The Price of America’s Addiction

Mexico is Bleeding

It bleeds from the north to south, from the deserts to its most populous cities. It bleeds from the young and the old, the rich to the poor. It bleeds because of the Cartels and the wars they fight to peddle their drugs across the border. It bleeds because Americans are more than happy to buy their drugs regardless of the human costs. Mexico bleeds because we don’t care.
In the last decade, Mexico has gone from having a large problem with Cartel related violence, to having a total war with the Cartels. Over sixty thousand Mexicans have lost their lives in Cartel related murders in the last six years alone. This is a war with no fronts, no battle lines, and no ground that can be gained. The Cartels exist because the conditions are perfect for them to prosper. They make unfathomable profits by selling their narcotics to Americans. This money gives them power to bribe, murder and extort freely in Mexico. They now hold so much power that even when the Mexican government called the army to contain the Cartels and the mayhem they cause, the only thing the government succeeded in doing was to make the Cartels angry. Mexico can’t fix this problem because Mexico can’t fix us. No matter how much Mexico or the United States throws police at the problem, the Cartels will still find a way to deliver their product.
“Over sixty thousand Mexicans have lost their lives in Cartel related murders in the last six years alone.”

“it is not the supply that is worrying, its the demand.”
